Racing Resumes With Regular Program

LOGANSPORT, IN.- After two consecutive rain outs, the action-packed micro sprint racing resumes on Saturday with the regular program at US 24 Speedway. Racers will set their sights on the four class features that will be up for grabs on Saturday.

The Nonwing Midget Clash has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 10th, while the Carol Smith Memorial has been moved to next Saturday, September 3rd. Qualifications and live green flag racing start at 6:30 PM this Saturday. I look forward to seeing you there!

Lauderbaugh Narrowly Misses the Challenge

LOGANSPORT, IN.- The threat of rain didn't wash away the fun at US 24 Speedway. A forty-three micro sprint field took to the 1/6 dirt oval to battle for four features, as US 24 welcomed the Midwest All Star Kid Sprint Series to the track.

The action kicked off with the thirty lap Non Wing A-Main. Track officials put up a $150 dollar offer to the front row. The offer was a chance to win the money, if they would surrender their starting spot to go try and win the feature from the back. Non Wing A-Main pole sitter Justin Peck declined the offer, while second place starter Nate Lauderbaugh took the Challenge.

Peck (Pictured Left) eventually won the thirty lap Non Wing A-Main, while Lauderbaugh charged his way through the field to finish second. For his efforts, the track awarded Lauderbaugh $100.00.

After the checkers fell Peck said, "The car was perfect, running top and bottom. Today was my Dad Steve's Birthday, so Happy Birthday Dad."

About his hard charging run to second place Lauderbaugh (Pictured Lower Right, Yellow Car) said, "It was awesome to come from the back like that. I like to challenge myself. We just came up a hair short. One more caution and we might of had Peck. The crew put a lot of hard work into this deal. I want to thank Eric Shively, Shively Racing Engines, Hoosier Tire, Infinity Shocks, my Dad Tom, and Pidge for all their help this season."

Adam Barth followed up last week's Non Wing feature win, with a solid third place run. Fourth went to Rushville's Garrett Abrams, while Butler, IN. racer Nick Wilson rounded out the top five in the thirty lap Non Wing A-Main.

Kokomo, IN's Carson Stout took another impressive feature win in the Junior Class finale. Kayden Shagnessey and Gabe Wilson raced their way to second and third place finishes.

"It was awesome to win again tonight. Car was slick and fast just like I like it. I'd like to thank my friends and family for their support," Stout said after taking the checkers.

A thirty minute rain delay gave everyone a chance to regroup for the rest of the program. Racing resumed with the Restrictor Class feature. Warsaw, IN. racer Trey Johnson found victory lane, winning the Restrictor A-Main

"It felt great to finally get a win. Car was loose, but the track was slick and fast. I'd like to thank my Mom, my Dad, Grandpa Dane Ronk, Joe Leek, Rodney Stealy, and Jr. Stafford for their support this season," Johnson said.

Francesville, IN. native Rusty Disinger raced his way to another top five finish, this time taking second place honors. Third went to Dustin Davis, while Tipton's Justin Weir ran to fourth. Dawson Stealy came home fifth.

The final feature of the night came in the Wing Class. Plainfield, IN. native Mike Terry Jr. (Pictured Left) took the lead late, and never looked back scoring a big win. "The car was loose but fast. The track was awesome. Jim did a great job on it tonight. I'd like to thank Hoosier Tire, Paul Moyer Motorsports, Pioneer Real Estate INC, AJ Dream Builders, M&J Terry Enterprises, and Shively Racing Engines," Terry Jr. explained.

Non Wing A-Main winner Justin Peck ended his night in second, while Camden's Trent Wilson finished third. The CEO of Collin Erwin came home fourth, while Herscher, IL. native Trey Datweiler came home fifth. Monticello's Jimmy Wood finished sixth.

Another action packed weekend is set to invade US 24 Speedway. The Non Wing Midget Clash sponsored by Indy Race Parts will take place Friday and Saturday August 12-13th. The program will feature TQ Sprints, Kenyon Midgets, 1200 cc up right mini sprints, micros, and Focus cars. Barth Takes First Feature at US 24 Speedway

LOGANSPORT, IN.- It was another special night of micro sprint racing, as US 24 Speedway crowned another first time winner in the thirty lap Non Wing A-Main.

Alexandria, IN. racer Adam Barth (Pictured Left) took his first checkered flag of his career at US 24, winning the thirty lap Non Wing A-Main. About his first win Barth said, "My first win at US 24 was great. It will be a win that I will remember for a long time to come. This is our first season at US 24. To get a win in your sixth race in this car is special. I'd like to thank Cory Kruseman, Chaulk Sticks, and Sanders Racing Wheels for all their support this season."

Muncie, IN. racer Billy "The Kid" Cribbs stayed with the front runners to take a solid second place finish. Third went to Kokomo's Shayne Riley. Todd Ritchey and Ty Detwailer raced their ways into the final spots of the Non Wing top five finishers.

Camden's Trent Wilson found victory lane, scoring his second straight feature win in the thirty lap Wing feature. "This win was great. Stan set up another fast race car, and we won from the pole. I'd like to thank FTX Chassis and Stars INC. for their support this season," Wilson explained.

Datweiler finished right behind Wilson in second, while Mike Terry Jr. took third. Monticello, IN. native Megan Wood raced her way to a strong fourth place finish, while Mattoon, IL.'s Cameron King took the checkers in fifth.

Francesville, IN. racer Rusty Disinger (Pictured Right) passed polesitter Tyler Orr early on and never looked back, winning the thirty lap Restrictor A-Main on Saturday night. After the checkers fell Disinger said, "The car was perfect. I couldn't of asked for a better car. I'd like to thank CD Embroidery, Disinger Machine Shop, Concept Chassis and my family for all their support this year."

Daleville, IN. native Austin Creamer put in a solid run to finish second. Third went to the polesitter Tyler Orr, while fourth belonged to Kenneth Harshbarger. Tipton, IN. racer Justin Weir raced his way to another top five finish, to round out the top five in Saturday night's Restrictor Finale.

Renneselaer's Dakota Williams put in some laps to dial in his Junior micro for this weekend's Midwest All Star Kids Sprint Series this coming Saturday. "I want to get this Non Wing set up down for next weekend. I'd like to thank my family and Dr. Mark Riese (DDS, PC) for their support this season," Williams exclaimed.

The Midwest All Star Kids Sprint Series makes their first of two trips to US 24 Speedway this coming Saturday. Bodine Captures 1st Feature Win at US 24

LOGANSPORT, IN.- Storms moved out of the area, just in time for another action-packed night of micro sprint racing at US 24 Speedway. Kokomo, IN.native Carson Stout won his third consecutive A-Main in the Junior Class on Saturday night.

After his third consecutive feature, Stout said, "It feels awesome to get my third straight feature win. My car was fast as it has ever been. I want to thank my family; Mann's Chevy of Flora, IN., Lindskcoog Photography, AJ Mowing Services, Spic & Span House Cleaning, and Dentmasters 2 for all their support this season." Kayden Shagnessy raced his way to another strong second place finish in Saturday's Junior A-Main.

Rushville, IN racer Cole Bodine (#57 Pictured Left) raced his Concept Chassis to it's first feature win in the thirty lap Nonwing A-Main. "This is awesome to get my first feature win like this at US 24. It was a blast. Car ran good all night. I want to thank my family; Lucas Oils, Hoosier Tire, Shively Racing Engines, and Eagle Signs & Awards for their continued support," Bodine explained.

Another Rushville, IN. native Garrett Abrams followed up his Nonwing A-Main win, with a second place showing in Saturday night's thirty lap feature. Kokomo, IN. racer Shayne Riley raced his way through the field to end the night in third, while Westfield's Stephanie Mockler took fourth. Indianapolis, IN. native Colton Brown rounded out the top five in Saturday's Nonwing A-Main event.

Laville, IN. native Dawson Stealy (#40 Pictured Right) record his third Restrictor feature win of the season on Saturday night. "Track was good and car was fast. It feels great to bounce back with a big win tonight. I want to thank my Dad Rodney and the crew for setting up a great car. I would also like to thank all my sponsors for their support this season; Concept Chassis, Advantage Performance Products, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Infinity Shocks, Hoosier Tire, Hothead Engine Heaters, Leading Edge, Shively Racing Engines, and Pro Shocks," Stealy explained.

Indianapolis, IN. racer Dustin Davis put together a solid race, finishing second. Third belonged to Tipton, IN. native Justin Weir, while Nick Wallace came home fourth. Rusty Disinger raced his way to the fifth spot in the thirty lap Restrictor A-Main on Saturday night.

The fourth and final feature of the night came from the Wing Class. Camden's Trent Wilson swept his heat race en route to the Wing Class A-Main win on Saturday. "My car was good all night. Jim (Wood) did a great job in preparing the track to race tonight, and we came up with a big feature win," Wilson explained. "I want to thank Stan Wiggam and the crew, as well as my sponsors; FTX Chassis and Stars INC. for all their support this season," Wilson added.

Monticello natives Megan Wood and her brother Jimmy stayed up front most of the race to take solid second and third place finishes behind Wilson. Detroit, MI. racer Craig Karazim scored a fourth place finish in his first A-Main at US 24 Speedway, while Matt Ostler held on for a fifth place finish.

Lauderbaugh, Stout, Weir Score Big Nights at US 24 Speedway

LOGANSPORT, IN.- A blisteringly, hot afternoon set up for another special night of micro sprint racing action as US 24 Speedway raced not just one, but two entire feature programs. The spectacular eight feature program began with the A-Main make ups for the Fred Marlowe Outlaw Nationals. Fred Marlowe was a great ambassador to not only micro sprint racing but racing in general. After a lengthy career in stock cars, Marlowe took up micro sprint racing in 2005. The passion for micro sprint racing never left, as it turned into a  hobby well into his retirement.

"I was very honored when US 24 Speedway decided to have a race in honor of Fred's memory. He was a very humble man, and would of been very honored as well," said Fred's wife Linda. In honor of his late father, Fred's son Sonny Marlowe piloted the famous red and white #98 (upper center) on Saturday night. "This race is very special for the entire Marlowe family. This is the best race our family has ever run. We never raced for money. We just wanted to make new friends and have fun," Sonny explained.

"My Dad has always bought great equipment, so there is a little pressure to perform the way he would want me too. Our family is here to watch me race, but this night is dedicated to the memory of my father," Sonny explained.

Kokomo, IN. native Nate Lauderbaugh (Pictured Left) won two features (Nonwing and Wing) during the Fred Marlowe Outlaw Nationals. After this remarkable feat Lauderbaugh said, "It was a very special night. I have been racing with the Marlowe family for a long time, and they are very good people. It really means a lot to get two feature wins, when racing in memory of a longtime friend like Fred. I'd like to thank Shively Racing Engines, Infinty Racing Shocks, Hoosier Racing Tires, Carroll County Tire, my Dad, and Pedge for their continued support."

Monticello's Jimmy Wood scored a strong second place finish in the Nonwing portion. Shayne Riley, Garrett Abrams, and Parker Price-Miller rounded out the top five in the first Nonwing A-Main.

Herscher, IL. racer Trey Datweiler picked up second place honors in the Wing portion. Justin Peck, and Fred's son Sonny Marlowe, and Mike Terry Jr. all picked up top five spots in the first Wing A-Main

Kokomo, IN. racer Carson Stout (Pictured Right) swept the Junior Class program, winning both Junior A-Mains on Saturday night. Summing up his memorable night Stout said, "Winning two features in one night is a first for me. It's definitely been a special night for sure."

In both Junior features, Kayden Shaughesy and Dakota Williams finished second and third respectfully.

Tipton, IN's Justin Weir (Pictured Left) put together a spectacular night, winning both Restrictor A-Main events. "It's been an unbelievable night. To win just one features is special, but to win two in one night from the pole is very special," Weir explained. "I'd like  to thank my Mom and Dad, Steve Nedrow, Dave Parkhurst, TJ Racing Oils, Valken, and the Booster Club of Kokomo," Weir said about his special night.

Austin Creamer, Tyler Orr, Jason Miller, and Dawson Stealy raced their way to top five finishes in the first Restrictor feature. Nick Wallace, Dawson Stealy, Ethan Pemberton, and Syndey Arnett finished out the top five in Saturday's second Restrictor A-Main.

Datweiler  won the second Wing Class A-Main. After the win, Datweiler said, "It felt great to overcome all the troubles we had tonight. We have been chasing the car all night, and it feels good to finally put it in victory lane."

Wood raced his way to another second place showing in Saturday's Wing A-Main. Price-Miller, Peck, and Waterloo's Collin Erwin held on for top five finishes.

Rushville, IN.'s Garrett Abrams won the eight and final feature in the Saturday's second Nonwing A-Main. ""This win wasn't easy, but it's good to get back ot victory lane. I'm happy that I was able to keep Datweiler behind me. It was a great way to end the night," Abrams said about the win.

Datweiler ended his night right behind Abrams in second. Billy "The Kid" Cribbs raced his way to third, while fourth and fifth went to Ed Klinkhammer Jr. and Nate Lauderbaugh.

"Night" Rider Set To Start at US 24 Speedway

LOGANSPORT, IN.- After nearly four years spent covering Miami County Speedway, Matt "Night" Rider is set to debut at the US 24 Speedway this Saturday night. US 24 Speedway is located on the US 24 road, that leads you toward Monticello, IN.

"The transition to US 24 should be a good one. It is a fast race track with a rich history of micro sprint racing in northern Indiana. I look forward to covering racing there starting Saturday," Rider explained"I would like to thank the Wood family, as well as all the track personnel and drivers, for letting me come and cover the racing at US 24," Rider said.

US 24 Speedway runs similar programs as Miami County Speedway, so with time Rider will get to know the lay of the land. If you wanna stop out at US 24 Speedway (near Logansport, IN.), racing is set to begin with hot laps around 5:45 PM with live heat racing at around 6:00 PM.
